Who Is Pat Flynn?
My philosophical journey began with atheistic existentialists. However, my materialist worldview eventually collapsed, leading me to reconsider my options and ultimately embrace philosophical theism—and, finally, Catholicism.
Many have found my story intriguing and have wondered what could lead a thoroughly secular, and supposedly critical, thinker to a position of religious faith. This blog explores some of those issues, most of which are philosophical. I delve into questions about the existence of God, the nature of the human person, and the foundations of morality.
I have authored five books, including The Best Argument for God, How to Be Better at (Almost) Everything, and Strong ON! (forthcoming). I also write for various Catholic websites, including Catholic Answers and Word on Fire. Throughout the week, I co-host the Philosophy for the People podcast with Dr. James Madden.
For those interested in credentials: I hold a master’s in philosophy, a bachelor’s in economics and finance, and I’m currently pursuing my PhD. My academic work has been published in the fields of metaphysics and philosophy of religion. On the personal side, I have six children, the world’s most amazing wife, and I enjoy working out, playing video games, and playing guitar.
P.S. If you’re inclined to support my efforts, that would be great! Either way, I’m glad you’re here.
