I’ll get straight to the point: Philosophy has always been a significant financial strain—at least for me. Many of you know that I make my living through fitness content creation. This means that the time I spend producing philosophy material—whether it’s podcasts, articles, or blog posts—takes substantial time away from the work that directly supports my business and, ultimately, my growing family (we’re expecting our sixth child next month!).
In short, as I continue to pursue my PhD and aim to increase the amount of philosophy content I produce, I’ve simply reached the point where I can no longer afford not to ask for your support.
After much (begrudging) consideration, I’m introducing a modest paid subscription option—just $7 per month. I hope you’ll see this as a highly worthy investment (honestly, I hope it feels like a no-brainer!), not only for the continued production of this publication but also for the Philosophy for the People podcast.
For those interested, there’s also an annual subscription option that saves you 17%.
Paid subscribers will receive exclusive content, which I’ll begin producing regularly (and I promise it will be worth it!), along with the ability to comment and “join the community,” as Substack puts it. While I can’t guarantee personal engagement with every subscriber (I limit my online time to stay productive), I’ll drop in from time to time.
Of course—of course!—there will still be the regular free content. Everything I’ve mentioned here is simply in addition (yes, more work for me, but I have the modest ambition that, eventually, these efforts will help make my philosophy endeavors at least economically break even).
Finally, for those feeling particularly generous, there’s a Founding Members option, which is a one-time donation. As a token of my appreciation, anyone who chooses this option will receive a signed copy of my book, The Best Argument for God.
THANK YOU.
That is all.
