I have a lot of projects in the works—academic, business, and musical. On the academic front, I’m working on drafts of new arguments in natural theology, a response to the logical problem of evil, and a critique of standard moral arguments for the existence of God.
Regarding these research projects, I’m considering offering exclusive early looks at essay drafts or updates on my dissertation to paid subscribers. To be clear: I’m not making any promises on this front, so please don’t subscribe just for that reason. Subscribe because you like my work—or me : )
The usual content will remain free as always. However, I periodically clean my email list of subscribers who don’t routinely open the emails. I’ve been doing this with my fitness email list for years, as I’ve been advised that having too many inactive subscribers negatively affects overall deliverability. So, please only subscribe (or resubscribe) if you plan on regularly opening and reading the emails. Otherwise, feel free to check in manually whenever you’re interested.
Let me add something else, just to manage expectations: this blog is really a place for me to throw ideas at the wall. Some of you may have noticed that not everything I write is fully developed or easily accessible. How do I plead? Guilty, of course. This Substack is simply my sounding board, a place to record ideas—whatever ideas—whenever they come up.
Finally, on the musical side, for the three people who care, I’ve recently joined a Van Halen tribute band in the Milwaukee area. As challenging as writing a dissertation can be, it now feels somewhat easier compared to learning over two hours of Eddie’s material!
PS - looks like The Best Argument for God is still on sale for just $5. Paperback!

If you did not think you had enough to do, then I suggest you listen to two podcasts on Closer to Truth. They deal with God and His existence.
First, "Why is There Anything at All?" From Jun 19th of this year which seems to be an audio of a YouTube video from 4 years ago. Robert Lawrence Kuhn who established and runs the site seems very amenable to their being a God. But he gives talking points for 4 other possible solutions to existence. They sound weak to me.
Your story metaphor seems to describe some of his possible solutions.

Second, "What is God?" This is his latest podcast and I listened to it. He has people with 4 very odd versions of God and then one which is consistent with traditional theism.

He says he does not like the causa sui rationale for God but discusses it.
Kuhn's site is massive and he has produced several hundred videos that cover physics, life, consciousness and meaning.
These podcasts are each 27 minutes long.
