some updates
The initial manuscript for my upcoming book with Sophia, tentatively titled The Best Argument for the Existence of God, has been submitted. This book challenges the following argument…
If two theories explain just as much, believe the simpler.
Theism and atheism explain just as much; atheism is simpler.
Believe atheism.
… by contending it is false both that atheism explains as much as theism and that atheism is simpler in the relevant respects. I’ll reveal further details about this project as it nears release.
In other news…
The People’s Passport (my supporting listener program) now has a new mini-study called Re-Thinking the Prime Thinker. This develops an argument originally suggested by John Haldane, showing how contingent concept possession can lead us to affirm that which just is inherently, unrestrictedly conceptual — namely, God as the unrestricted act of understanding, understanding itself. The study covers other important philosophical concepts, such as realism vs nominalism, causal regresses, and more. Again, included for anybody who supports Philosophy for the People via The People’s Passport.
Not long from now, I’ll be uploading another mini-study on the PSR and the problem of evil. Either way, I thank all of you that support Philosophy for the People monetarily as members of The People’s Passport.
OK, content time.
A fun conversation with Dr. Mark Spencer on beauty and our obligation to worship.
And a post suggesting naturalism is like a grand metaphysical conspiracy theory.
